Spalarnia is the musical alter ego of polish performance artist Wojciech Kosma. For the end-of-summer live show at Kunstgiesserei, Wojciech performed a selection of songs from his albums USTA and Paradoks, along with a handful of unreleased pieces, including an intimate reimagining of his 2022 track Poza, introduced with an English translation.

(Sub)Genre-shifting has always been part of how I play. I think you can hear some diversity in my sets — I’ve rarely stuck to just one lane. 
At the same time, I’ve recently been coming back to four-to-the-floor beats. Within this turbulent world, I sense a kind of calming effect they can have.
Playing in St. Gallen always feels like a full circle moment. It’s the place where I learned to love electronic music, coming of age in a small but deeply invested and passionate scene. That said, it was almost entirely cis-male driven. There’s still a long way to go. But despite backlash, structures are slowly starting to change.

As a local DJ in a small city like St.Gallen, where nightlife is thin but alive, you’re used to playing all-nighter sets. Five hours or more, building up tension, switching styles, telling a story. For the kind people at Pacific Radio, I tried to squeeze that journey into a shorter time. It’s a tribute to the locals — the ones without whom nightlife would be nothing. We are the backbone, the foundation of club culture.
